Invitations & covid

Futuremrs.v, on November 14, 2020 at 6:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 2 14
I am getting ready to send out invitations for my Jan wedding. Right now in WA it’s max of 50 people for the church we are using. If anything with out covid phases change it could drop in people. How do I word in a little note in the invitation that people may be “uninvited” or not able to come because of that?

Maybe do.. “In the event of mandatory state regulations, guest list alterations may take place if necessary”

Also be sure to put information on your website about watching the state regulations and how you will update people if a change must be made.

We sent un-invites today. This is the wording we used.

    Dear Friends and Family:

Due to the current circumstances of the Covid Pandemic and keeping in mind the most recent restrictions for social gatherings in the State of Illinois, it is with a heavy heart and out of an abundance of love and concern for our friends and family that we opt for a more intimate ceremony and while we cannot extend an invitation to you for our new wedding plans, we thank you for being a part of our journey. Although you may not be part of this day, we look forward to you being a part of our future memories we create together once this has all passed.

Livestreaming the ceremony may not be an option due to poor internet service at the venue, but we will share a link for the ceremony as soon as we can.

Thank you all for your continued love and support.

    Love,

    Ben and Chris

I’m so sorry you had to do uninvite people, this is a crazy time. But thank you SO much for sharing this with me. I will definitely save this just in case. 🤗

Good luck! It is such a crazy time, but my guests have been very understanding. I'm sure yours will be too.

Hmm I wouldn't write it ahead of time cause it overshadows the sentiment of the invitation. If something out of your control happens, then everyone will understand

Dallas has a great idea. Maybe use his verbiage on your wedding website.

I am nervous that this will be happening to us as well. Making a note of the suggestions above!
