Invitation/envelopes

Bee, on December 29, 2016 at 1:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Our invitations and rsvp cards came with nice quality white envelopes so we're considering just using them instead of the envelopes that match the invites. I'll post a picture of those in the comments as I'm on mobile. I never paid attention to envelopes but I know others might. We save about $65 but keeping the envelopes white. Thoughts? Would you care if the envelopes don't match the rsvp and invitation cards?

This is the envelopes that match the invitations.

I think the invitation/RSVP look great with the white, I'd honestly never think that they weren't 'matching'. ETA: Forgot to say, that is a beautiful design!

The envelope that matches the invite is very pretty. But if you're looking for ways to save money, cutting this out is definitely the way to go. The envelopes will literally be in the trash within minutes of being opened, and the rsvp ones come right back to you.

I would not care and probably would not notice.

Thanks guys! @Richard, I have the option of just getting the matching envelopes for the invitations (so the outer envelope) while keeping the white envelopes for the rsvp cards. As a stationary person, would it clash to you if just the rsvp envelopes are white? We're not doing any other inserts if that helps.

Stick with what you got. $65 is a lot for something that noone but you will notice.

Having been invited to a number of weddings recently I would have to say I don't remember what a single envelope looked like. They were all thrown in the trash while the invite was kept on the fridge. Save your money if you don't have a strong preference.

It really doesn't matter just do the white envelopes especially if it will save you some money.

Yea we couldn't remember a single envelope we've gotten either. We're not stationary people so wanted to double check. Good to know the we aren't committing a major wedding sin! Thanks everyone!
