Invitations are normally sent 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding. People might lose them or forget about them if you send now

Since it's 6 months ahead of time, definitely send out the Save The Dates! As for the actual invitations, like the previous comment mentioned, I would wait until 6-8 weeks ahead of the wedding before sending those.

Totally agree- send your STDs out now. Invitations are 6-8 weeks for the time frame. Our wedding is on 4/3/21 but our deadline for the final headcount is on 3/5. The RSVPs have 2/28 deadline- that gives me a week to track down the stragglers. I counted back from the 3/5 date & sent our invitations mid January.

I'd send them out when your wedding is three months away. That's what my wedding planner says is the best time. I think 6 months is way to early

Save the dates are sent at 6 months but do not send invites before 6 weeks or they will get lost and forgotten

6 months out is a good time to send save the dates! I wouldn't send your actual invites out until 6-8 weeks before your wedding though

Keep in mind that STDs and invites are totally different things.

The STD is just an announcement of the date, and usually the city/state where the wedding will be. Maybe the wedding website.

The invitation has the details - time, place, dress code, website, RSVP date, etc.
