Invitation Zip Code Placement

April, on July 2, 2012 at 3:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Happy Monday!

I have seen zip codes placed below the City, State (see below) on wedding invitations.

Mr. and Mrs. Happy Couple

123 Almost Married Avenue

True Love, Georgia

3 5 6 7 8

Does the post office have a problem with this?

I prefer them the other way, but if you prefer that look I would just go into your post office and ask if it's going to cause a problem.

I got to know our local postal workers very well in the months before our wedding. Smiley smile

I used to write my addresses that way all the time because I preferred it, and I've never had a problem with the PO about it. I did our Save the Dates that way as well, and while we did have some problems with delivery, it was because of the ink/envelope color combo we used, not because of the ZIP location.

I've done this before, never had any problems in the past.

The post office (I remember having to look this up for something) prefers

City, (2 letter abbreviation) and zip

    on the same line

But they'll do it your way.

I usually put them on the same line but it should not be a problem as long as its on there.
