Invitation wording

Mrs Cheapskate, on June 15, 2015 at 11:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Im getting married in a church at 2:30, and my dinner reception starts at 5:30. We are having mostly immediate family who will be in most of the pictures that are being taken after the wedding. Im putting my reception and rsvp info on the bottom of my invitation and am not using a reception card, nor a r.s.v.p. card. Should I put the time the dinner reception starts or just put "dinner reception to follow" and the address? Also, are there periods in between RSVP or not? And does RSVP go in capital letters or lower case? Finally, should all the font on the Invitation be in capital letters, or just the first letter of each word, or just the first letter of each line? So much stuff for something that will ultimately end up in the garbage! lol Thanks for your help! Oh we are only sending out like 30 invitations so Im just putting my phone number down for the rsvp - incase you were wondering.

    1. Why such a huge gap? That's annoying as hell for guests.

    2. You still need RSVP cards.

    3. Periods between RSVP are personal preference, but would properly be written R.S.V.P.

I would put the start time of the reception. Otherwise, guests will go directly from ceremony venue to reception venue.

Don't capitalize everything and sometimes not even the first word of a line.

    1. Definitely put the time the reception begins. Otherwise, people will assume it closely follows the ceremony.

    2. I never put periods in RSVP, but I don't think either is necessarily incorrect.

    3. Please Don't Write Your Invitations Like This. It makes things really hard to read. So do all caps. I would just capitalize the first word and any proper words like the date and month.

Thanks, all. The gap is to take pictures, and as I said in my OP everyone (all 37) will be involved in taking of the annoying pictures....and then it will take 30 minutes (with traffic) to get to the restaurant. everyone that comes to the wedding will be involved with pictures, and then the drive to the restaurant, and then dinner and drinks.

@Zoni - nope no RSVP cards, just my cell phone number.
