Invitation wording

Jimmy, on July 11, 2020 at 6:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hello everyone!

My FW and I are getting married in Maui but then having a ceremony and reception in 2021. How do we word our invitations? She would have had my last name for nearly a year. Would it be understandable to use her maiden name on the invitations? What are we inviting our guest to since we are already married? I don't like the term renewing vows since it would have been so recent.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

This is not exactly what you mean but similar where you can mention the ceremony and then the reception with a different date. I am sure you could google more examples.

You could use just your first or you could say “The Last Name Family”

It’s a vow renewal. You should use her current name when you send invitations, which will be her married name unless she waits until after the vow renewal to change her name.

You can also call it a "celebration of marriage"! You can call the ceremony a "unity ceremony" or say that you will be exchanging your vows and rings again in front of your guests and welcome them to join you at a reception in celebration of your marriage!
