Ok so I want our ceremony to begin at 4:30. My question is do I put on the invites that the ceremony starts at 4:30 or do I put music starts at 4:15 or do I say 4 so people are actually on time or....what do I do?!

I put 4:30 originally but knowing my crowd I realized I would be shooting myself in the foot and losing precious time at our venue waiting on late comers. We left our invites at 4:30pm and changed our venue start time to 5pm and I’m super relieved. People have taken the day off from work to celebrate with you. Waiting an extra 15-25 min will not hurt or upset anyone who loves and cares about you on your big day!

We put the actual start time on our invite, where every single guest had to drive at least an hour up a canyon road that has frequent construction closures, not a single guest was late. Actually a lot of them were obnoxiously early and were trying to take photos of us taking photos when no one was supposed to see me, but oh well. Know your crowd, if you’re of a culture or family where everyone is late, put 15 minutes MAX early. Or I’ve seen people put “seating begins at 4, ceremony at 4:30”

Our ceremony would start at 5 pm. Our venue told us to put 4:30 pm on the invitations. But then if people show up early, they would be waiting for a long time. So we decided to put the actual start time.
