Amira, on August 1, 2019 at 2:15 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13
Hi everyone! We just received our invitations today, and we’re getting to ready to address them. But we don’t know how! My name is Amira Richardson, and his is Cole Brown. My name or change until after the wedding. I don’t know whether to just put Cole and Amira, Cole Brown and Amira Richardson, or the future Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Help!?

You can do it however you want. We went with "The Future Mrs. and Mrs." but First Last and First Last would work just as well.

I just did both of our first names, we bought a stamp so we could use it for STDs, invites, and thank you cards.

I just did our current names because we both have short names. If I would have thought about it, I would have put the Future Mr. and Mrs.

Ours was just our first names. We did this because we wanted to purchase a stamp, and wanted one that would work before AND after the wedding. ...so while I think “the future ___” is super cute I didn’t want to buy a thing saying that and then never be able to get any use out of it once the wedding passed!

I also was wondering how to write it out when i started my invites! I ended up buying an address return stamp on Etsy with just our first names and I LOVE it! Check it out:

The invitations refer to you by your pre-wedding names. For RSVP, also pre-wedding names, or else sent to someone who is handling RSVP for you. For example, we were away when most RSVP were due. So we had them sent to my mom's name and address. She functioned like a social secretary for a while.

We did a interchangable stamp through papersource with just our 1st names. 2 days after we placed that order I got a coupon for 40% off a stamp so I ordered one with new last name.

We used just our first names, his first then mine. That suffices for mail in the US. We didn't want to do any future mr&mrs to not confuse the mailman.

Just your first names is fine.

For the invitation I put his name if I was sending it to his family and friends and put my name if I was sending it to mine. For our RSVPs, I put The Future Mr and Mrs
