Invitation Proofing Please!!

Blair Waldorf, on May 17, 2017 at 9:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

Good morning fam!

So basically I've stared at these to the point where I need fresh eyes that will be honest. I feel like they are good except they changed my date wording. It was originally:

Friday, October Sixth

Two Thousand Seventeen

at Six O'clock in the Evening

I'm definitely having it switched back to Friday, October Sixth but should I have them re-capitalize everything or lowercase? I feel like it looks better capitalized...

Thanks in advance! I'll add the RSVP card to the comments.

Based on what I've read online, those lines should all be lowercase except for the first letter of the new line and things like "October". I rather like them lowercase Smiley smile

And the RSVP card, it initially said Kindly Reply By September Thirteenth, is the thirteenth of September better?

I think it looks great the way it is but go with what you like the best.

I would match the RSVP wording to however you decide to do the invitation. Also, I would consider using 13, rather than spelling it out, just because I've heard some people mix up thirteenth and thirtieth and you don't want to have to hunt all those people down.

Hi Blair, for the invite I think you're right. The capitalization for each word looks more elegant from a lines perspective. And if you like it better, go for it!

For the RSVPs I would match the wording of the invite.

Let me guess.. WPD sale? I am doing this right now too and going cross eyed trying to proof read them. It took sending them to FH to realize his last name was spelled wrong! Like wtf is wrong with me. I think they look great. I would vote for the lowercase version, it seems to go with the style better.

Late to this, but it shouldn't be capitalized. It's a sentence, not a title. Only proper nouns get capitalized.

ETA: in fact, I'd change "cocktails, dinner, and merriment to follow" to remove those extra capitals, too

I agree with BookcaseHat about the "cocktails, dinner, and merriment to follow"! I'd only capitalize the "C" in cocktails, or keep in consistent with your font styles and capitalize everything or keep everything lowercase.

    I love the design!!

If you want to spell out the date, the traditional format is "Friday, the sixth of October"

The year spelled out should be "Two thousand seventeen"
