Invitation packet

Casey, on June 11, 2019 at 10:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
What all do you include in your invitation packet? I have my invitations, velum paper, rsvp card and envelope. Where do we put our wedding website and registry info? How about info about hotel blocks?

We just had the invitation, velum paper, and details card. We put our wedding website on our details card and we had guests RSVP on the website. Registry information should never go with a wedding invitation. Shower invite, wedding website, or word of mouth only. We put hotel info on the wedding website but that could also go on a details card if you want.

Thank you, Kelly! My invitation kit came with rsvp cards. Maybe I can print them as detail cards instead. What all goes on the detail cards, aside from wedding website? And how did you have them rsvp on your wedding website?

This may be a dumb question, but how did you decide what hotel to do hotel block at? And do I have to pay for all of the rooms? It’s just that I am not having my wedding or reception at a hotel and I know all guests are at different budget levels.

The way I selected my hotels was by doing a google search of hotels near by and then reading reviews/various price ranges so people can choose luxury/non luxury. You should not be responsible to pay for any of the rooms, however some hotels do require you to pay for rooms unused so make sure you ask about that before signing a contract. Both the hotels I have contract with have held 10 rooms and if I don’t use them they release them to the public with no fee or penalty.

My invitation packet had a picture of FH and I. A little note from FH and I and then a passport (our wedding is travel themed. In the passport is all the event’s details and then we have detail page that lists our rsvp deadline, how they can rsvp and also our wedding website. On the wedding website we have the hotel info.

It depends on the wedding and what info you need to convey to guests. Ours had info about our welcome party and our website but I’ve seen everything from hotel information, directions, and parking info etc. And our wedding website was thru Minted so we inputted all guests and they searched for their name and selected a meal choice, whether they were coming to the welcome party and wedding, and where they were staying.

Call around to different hotels and see if they offer a courtesy block.

Ours had our main invite, two details cards (one with venue directions & bus information, and one with hotel information), and an RSVP card and envelope. Some had a rehearsal dinner invite too. We also repeated all that information on our website!

We included a details/info card with ours that has some info on it but also directs guests to the website for additional information (accommodations, registry etc.)

Originally we had 3 inserts. Details, gifts and rsvp and it was just too much. I was worried that the guests would feel like they were reading a book lol

Okay, after reading this post. I think I need to send more stuff out. I was planning on sending my invitations out this month. At first I was only doing an invitation because people will be RSVP'ing on the website. Now reading this I should add a details card. What usually goes on the details card. what else should I add when sending out invitations. I was wanting to get something made to let me know how many seats would be reserved for them. Has anyone done that? If so, how did you go about that?

We had one flat invitation with the website included. Other than that we just had a RSVP card and return envelope.

We are going with an "all-in-one" invitation from minted.com. All of our extra information they need will be on our website, so we aren't going to do a detail card. If they want details, they can go online! We are doing RSVP card and online RSVPing because I wanted to make sure non-tech savvy guests can get theirs back to us easily.
