Invitation issue?

JJ12, on January 22, 2021 at 4:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
I just got my envelopes for my invitations in the mail. I had my invitations designed and printed by a professional stationery just for background. The envelopes do not have a return address, which she didn’t mentioned specifically would not be included and didn’t ask me my preference. I assumed it would be... it’s very common to put a return. Secondly, the addresses are formatted oddly. The city, state and zip are all on their own individual lines as opposed to all being on one which is standard formatting. I’m worried there will be an issue with deliverability plus paired with the no return address. Have any of you see an address formatted that way? Invitation issue? 1

I've received many wedding invites over the years..very formal..and none have ever had a return address, which I thought was strange. And many have gotten lost the mail because the couples used labels addressed to guests that smeared badly, again with no return address.

Each section having its own line is not common but considered decorative. Most just address it as you would a regular card or letter, with no abbreviations.

Hey, Evans! My FI is from the Augusta area.

To answer your question, return address printing from places like Minted, etc. is extra $$, and sometimes quite a bit. We got labels made, and then got a stamp made from Zazzle once we realized how many you would need.

I think the formatting of the addresses is a little odd, but also, I would think you'd have gotten a proof ahead of time?

I did have a proof and the address was not like that on it, which I pointed out to the stationery ( after she pointed out that the return was not on the proof haha) There was no return address which I didn’t even think of but thought it was commonplace. I’m less worried about the return address and more about the address formatting

Oof, if she gave you a proof and did something different for the final product, that's not good and she should redo it to your specifications.

My FSIL's friend does stationery in that area if you decide to go a different way, although you're probably better off getting what you paid for. Minted also does addressing for the cost of envelopes; for white ones it would have been $40 for 100 and for colored around $75 for $100.

That’s not a terrible price if I choose to pivot. I’m going to go to the post office today and see what they says
