Invitation envelopes

Cathy, on July 24, 2021 at 9:03 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
I'm in the process of stuffing my invitations and noticed the inner and outer envelopes are the same size which is making it difficult for me to assemble this and mail it out. Some of the envelopes have ripped... 😡 Is the inner even needed ? I mean where I ordered it from the envelopes should have been slightly bigger.

That is odd because the inner should be slightly smaller. They are traditionally used to list all invited guests to avoid confusion, and the outer envelope was addressed to the head of the household as a way to protect the invitation from the elements. It’s the invitation company’s fault they are the wrong size. Skip the inner envelope if they are tearing and list all invited guests on the outside.

I would just skip the inner envelopes if it's causing problems

Thanks opted not to use the inner unless it's toward a family. There was a trick to getting the envelopes in
