Invitation Envelope printing???

Lisa, on April 26, 2010 at 1:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I ordered/designed my invitations on an online site. They turned out perfect, but the site does not address/print the envelopes. Does anybody have any advice on where I would get the envelopes printed??? Thanks!

VistaPrint - get 50% off your first order - http://www.vistaprint.com/qs/newcustomeroffer.aspx

    They have Custom Printed Envelopes - http://www.vistaprint.com/envelopes/custom-envelopes-multi.aspx - 100 for $22.49.

If they aren't metallic envelopes and you already have them, you may be able to print them yourself.

To test it, I would first cut a couple pieces of card stock to the size of the envelope and print on those first to test the position of your text and how the printer handles your size. Once you perfect it, you can start printing your own envelopes. It is time consuming, but it might be worth it to save some money.

They probably don't print them because wedding etiquette dictates that invitation envelopes be hand written. Very time consuming, but much more personal.

That aside, I agree wil jlam. Printing them yourselves is probably the best way to go.

Lisa - I offer envelope printing. You can check out samples of my work at www.melissadweddings.com

Or, if you need help printing them yourself, I'd be happy to offer you suggestions. You can email me at ****@****************.***. Basically, you need a good home printer and either Word Excel or a program like PrintShop. You can enter all your guests' names and addresses then merge them to print. You can have different layouts for a married couple, unmarried guests, addresses that include apartments, etc. You usually have to format the page size to fit your envelope. Sounds more complicated than it actually is.

You can do them yourself if you have a printer at home! All you need is your addresses in an excel spreadsheet. Message me if you need help!

Words has templates for envelopes and a customizing feature just input your envelope size and it should print. You will want to test it first to make sure that you and Word are talking about the same thing.

You will also have to run them twice . The return address for invitations goes on the back flap, it is easier to run them twice than to try and program that into the custom features for the wortd processor.
