Invitation but no Save the Date?

Kris, on April 17, 2017 at 11:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

We are gearing up to send out invitations sometime in June and wanted to add a few people to our guest list that we did not send save the dates to. Is that ok? Or would that equivalent to B-listing?

Note that once we send out invitations, we will not be inviting anyone else haha.

I think that is okay. I forgot to send a few people a STD and still plan to send an invitation. I think a B list is only when you know some people you invited aren't coming and then you invite some of your second best lol

I did not send STDs to everyone so some people received an invitation without a STD. As long as you don't send out a second wave of invites then you should be good. I would recommend not sending invites out until July though. You are more likely to have people change their plans after rsvping the earlier you send them.

I agree, totally fine. Some people only send STDs to OOT guests and some people don't send them at all. As long as only 1 round of invites goes out, you're good.

It's only B-listing if you send out invites, wait for responses and then send out another round of invites. STDs aren't mandatory and it's perfectly fine to send an invitation to someone that did not receive a STD.

    Thanks everyone!

@Mrs. Knolle - I have a "goal" of mailing them out in mid to late June in hopes that they are actually in the mail by early July haha.
