International honeymoon with current restrictions

It has been like this since the start of the pandemic. As long as you are responsible when traveling (ie mask wearing, testing before/after etc) then you will be fine and I wouldn't worry. We went to Jamaica back in early December and was fine. We tested before and quarantined when we returned. Make sure to check the guidelines for the countries because most time you need a COVID test at least 72 hours prior to flight arrival.

Agree! I traveled to Cancun September, 2020 and felt safer there than I feel here in California. In Mexico the hotels were staying below 30% capacity and the staff went above and beyond to make tourist feel safe. I am leaving back to the Yucatan next week and am excited to get under the nice Caribbean sun.

I actually went to CR at the end of March and it was amazing. Super safe but without feeling overly restrictive and shut down. I think you’ll be safe with going to CR — they seem to have everything under control enough that I can’t see anything shutting down as far as travel there goes. Good luck— hope that makes you feel better?! (Ps- we still haven’t booked our honeymoon and are getting married in 2 months 🤪 so I feel you! It’s so hard to plan anything right now!)

View Quoted Comment We had a wonderful time! It was a lot more dead due to covid. We had to test before and wear masks in the airport and the transportation to the resort obviously. On the resort itself you only really needed it when going into the restaurant like here in the US. There were signs to wear when ordering at the bar but it wasnt enforced at all. They still had night time events and music which was fun. With the limited amount of people they really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy! We are going to DR for our honeymoon this June under the same company

We cancelled our cruise about two months ago because we just didn't want to chance anything. We're keeping it in the U.S. and just spending a week in Key West!
