Does anyone else have someone in their wedding party who’s from another country? Specifically France/the EU? Our wedding is on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Has anyone had any luck with or any suggestions for how my bridesmaid can come into the country for our wedding? She’s a French citizen but fully vaccinated. I know it’s a long shot but we’re planning on writing to the US embassy in France and my congressman in Maryland to see if there’s anything that could be done. Just curious if anyone has had experiences with international guests/wedding party members coming to their wedding.

    Hi ! I'va had an international wedding but... in France ;-) My guests were from Europe mostly, 2 of them came from South America, but it was not at the time of Covid... Hope your friend will be able to come !

    Apparently the US President has announced that restrictions will soon be lifted. However, I'm a bit skeptical that there won't be a new wave in September. Here in France, cases are rising as they are in much of Europe. As of right now, there doesn't seem to be an efficient way to enter the US if you are neither a citizen or resident.

    As of now, she would need to spend two weeks out of the Schengen area. My bridesmaid/officiant lives in Spain and had to spend 2 weeks in Mexico before being able to come to the US.
    Honestly this travel ban for people in the Schengen area is super outdated and ridiculous and I can’t believe Biden hasn’t removed it yet.

    My husband and I had a small pandemic wedding last October, and are *hoping* to do our reception this October. His family and most of his groomsmen are from England...

    I've read that the administration is looking at Mexico / Canada border review as of August 21 (https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/21/politics/us-canada-mexico-travel/index.html), and I know there has been a lot of pressure from the EU and major airlines to have the US open their borders to international travel.

    So as of now all I can do is frantically stalk the news and HOPE that there is good news in the next few months. Good luck to you too!
