Intermezzo Course?

Madison, on May 30, 2019 at 9:33 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

My fiance and I are thinking of adding an intermezzo course to our reception dinner.

A few questions: #1 Is this a good idea/are you doing it?, #2 is $6 per person too much and #3 if we did do it and you can to our wedding, which sorbet would you prefer?

-Raspberry Sorbet Fresh w/ Raspberry & Micro Basil

-Lemon Sorbet w/ Fresh Mint

-Wild Berry Sorbet w/ Pomegranate Seeds & Micro Lavender

It’s a cute idea but I feel like $6/pp is a lot. Would you pay $6 for a small thing of sorbet at your local ice cream shop? If you have the money or not too many guests though and make it work I’d probably go with the raspberry.

If you’re doing a plated meal and can budget this, it sounds fabulous & fancy! I like flavors #1 or #2 (leaning to #1). 😋

I wouldn't want to spend $6 on a half scoop of sorbet with a sprig of mint on the side. BUT,if I were a guest I would be like ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh, so fancy lol. It would definitely be a wow factor!!!!

Yeah, $6pp sounds like a lot for some sorbet. However, it is fancy and if so, my personal favorite is the raspberry one.

I don't really know what an intermezzo course is. So, nope. I'm not doing it.

$6/pp. Well, I'm spending $9.45 per person for my entire meal, so that seems high to me.

    Raspberry.

I've been to a few weddings that had it. It was nice and definitely gave the meal a wow factor. If your budget can handle it, it'll give you a "pop" to your meal. If not, don't worry. Most people won't even know.

I love an intermezzo. My cousin did it with a custom monogrammed ice sculpture "bowl" for each guest and it was gorgeous. I dont think $6 is too much as long as you're not sacrificing other things for it.
As far as flavor I'd do something simple and refreshing like the lemon with mint. That sounds lovely. The others sound a little too sweet for an intermezzo.

My cousin had one at his wedding and it was a pleasant surprise. I would choose the lemon out of those choices.

Our intermezzo will be lemon sorbet.

I know it's supposed to be a palate refresher; but if it wasn't included in our package, I wouldn't add it.

I think this a great idea for a formal wedding, I'd appreciate it. I'm really not sure on pricing. I'd prefer the lemon, it's a better palette cleanser in my opinion.

We're doing a taco/nacho bar and chips and salsa thru a local grocery store caterer.
I'm from the midwest, so things are cheaper.
