Interesting reminder... Vendor attire

During our conversation with our photographer she mentioned that we should check in with our vendors on their attire. Something that would have never crossed my mind, but makes complete sense! Especially here in FL. For some reason people seem to think it is ok to show up in Hawaiian shirts and shorts... WTF?! So today I'm reaching out to our vendors and blaming my mom for being a worry wort so they don't get offended.

Curiosity has me wondering if this is a common issue or a FL thing. What have you ladies seen?

It should be a given, but with "pros" on CL and TT? All bets are off.

Our officiant asked if we'd like him in his robe (I know there is a more official word, but I can't think of it), a button down and tie, or something a bit more casual. We ended up telling him to just wear a nice shirt or sweater and nice pants. The photographer asked if black pants and a button down would suffice and the dj and video forms had spots to indicate if the wedding was more formal, or if normal cocktail attire would do.

It would seem like a basic requirement to me, but logic does not rule all...

A male photographer showed up at a country club wedding in jeans. He fell off my referral list.

Granted this was a beach wedding, but the groom and GM were in tuxes and the male officiant was in khakis and a Hawaiian print shirt. Looked entirely too casual, a suit would have been better.

But, other than those 2 instances, I don't recall the pros being dressed inappropriately. Now, guests are another matter. For some reason, when couples say "we're having a beach wedding," guests hear 'beach' and don't hear 'wedding.' So, guests show up in T-shirts and shorts or skimpy sundresses that leave nothing to the imagination!

I attended a wedding in the keys this past weekend where the band wore Hawaiian shirts and shorts at their pre-wedding celebration on the beach the night before. But, who knows...maybe the couple requested that they wear that. Smiley smile
