Interesting Coronavirus & Events Risk Table

on April 15, 2020 at 2:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 7

Hi brides! I hope everyone is keeping their spirits up during this crazy time. We'll get through this! I postponed my wedding a month ago, and still go back and forth if I made the right decision on our new date.

I work closely with a meeting planner at my job and she shared with me this article from the events industry about events and coronavirus. I thought it might be helpful for other brides who are considering postponing or cancelling. It is includes a pretty great table for meeting planners to help inform their decision to postpone or not.

Keep in mind the article was published today 4/15, so all of the points reflect what's currently going on in our world, but it acknowledges the risk of holding events over the next year. Of course, no one can predict the future, and we are all holding weddings of different sizes in different locations, but hopefully this can help anyone who is looking for some direction on what to expect for events.

Wishing you all the very best!

It's funny you say that - I'm October and this chart validates me hanging in there for now!

Makes sense as October says moderate risk versus September high risk.

The fact that it might make a comeback during the fall/winter makes me a little nervous for my Jan. 2020 wedding

I’m December 2020 and wasn’t sure what likelihood of comeback exactly meant; I clicked on the link and it was referring to likelihood that things will be more “normal”. So fingers crossed for that!!

For some reason I totally missed that it was September and October were different risk categories. I'm so used to assuming "fall" is Sep/Oct/Nov!

Yea, I thought it meant the likelihood of a second wave of Covid-19 impacting things - a resurgence of the virus, not rebound of the events industry. The chart definitely could have been more clear!
