Is it normal to ask vendors for proof of liability insurance before booking

    I did not see anyone mention that topic so the answer seems to be "no." However, it would be worthwhile to verify they have coverage. You have to see what that covers though --employees, vendor injuries, contract failure on their part, guest injuries. Also, you might ask the question with some test or sample venues to see how they react to the question.

    If they do not cover guest injuries, you may want coverage on your own for that. I think the mention you getting coverage for guest injuries might make them happier to respond to their coverage.

    Some venues require all vendors who will work onsite to be insured and even bonded. Ask your venue what they need and if they require copy of insurance or bond. Then inform your vendors of what is required to work with you. They should not be surprised if professionals. Good luck.
