Insurance

Hey Couples in Love,

Question my Fiancé and I have been discussing Wedding Insurance. Is this a must have, what does it really cover? Is anyone getting it? Smiley heart

To be honest, none of us can answer this question for you. Each insurer sets their own terms and conditions and will advise of what is and isn't covered in addition to things such as excesses payable.

Personally, I wouldn't waste money on it - unless the insurance has specific protections re COVID, you are better off negotiating decent terms with your vendors than you are taking out insurance.

We are required to get it per our venue essentially related to the liability of having alcohol at the event.

The answer to your question all depends on the provider and what they include in their terms and conditions, because they're all different.

We have to get one because our venue requires it. We haven't searched yet.

Most venues require wedding insurance. I would check your contract.

My fiance and I are planning on buying it just in case. Our venue where we are having our wedding, recommended it, and after looking it up online it makes sense as to why to buy it.

We are getting the required liability coverage per the contract with our venue, but we are also adding optional cancellation coverage because my FH is military and we want to ensure that we can get non-refundable deposits back if something crazy were to happen and his leave gets withdrawn. COVID-related stuff is typically excluded so just carefully read the policy terms and see if it’s worth it to you!
