Does anyone who’s ordering or has ordered their wedding invitations included an inner envelope or do u just put the “and guest” or children’s names of the invited on the putter envelopes??

We ordered our invitations from Ann's Bridal Bargains and they came with inner envelopes, so we used them. We didn't have any issues with people trying to bring extra guests (in fact, most people who were given a plus one declined it).

I think inner envelopes have become pretty much obsolete.

We are writing "family X" & then set the # of seats they have inside the RSVP.

We had inner and outer envelopes for our wedding. For the outter envelopes, did formal so we addressed everyone by Mr., Mrs., or Ms. For inner envelopes, we addressed everyone by first names and if they go by their nicknames that what we used. I have included examples of what we did for our wedding. We had an adults only reception expect for the children in the wedding, but I included an example of how we would have addressed it if we had more children. We also included on our reply card the number of seats we reserved in order to make it very clear on how many guest we were inviting for each person.

    Example 1: Married Couples

    Outter: Mr. and Mrs. Smith

    Inner: John and Jane

    Example 2: Non-Married Couples

Outter: Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Thompson

    Outter: John and Jane

Example 3: Single with Plus One

    Outter: Mr. John Smith

    Inner: John and Guest

Example 4: Married Couple with children

Outter: Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Family

Inner: Line 1: John and Jane Line 2. Mary, Sue, and Bob (children's names)

Example 5: Non-Married Couple with children

Outter: Mr. John Smith, Ms. Jane Thompson, and Family

Inner: Line 1: John and Jane Line 2. Mary, Sue, and Bob (children's names)

Yes you normally address both the inner and outer envelopes. The outter envelopes are generally more formal whereas the inner envelopes are less formal.
