Ink cover or no (pic heavy)

Lynne, on June 18, 2019 at 9:22 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 27
These are my tattoos. I love each of them. A couple of my family members thinks I should cover them up.

Rose is for family that I have lost. Taurus sign is my zodiac. Eagle is my nickname from my dad, stars around it are for my great uncle. Cross is because I've always wanted one. Harrison is for my grandpa, he was a fireman. Heart was my first tattoo. Paw print, is for my furbaby that I lost almost 3 years ago and she was my baby girl.

I think it depends on the look you’re going for and wether you want them to show in pictures or not. I have 3 tattoos. I plan on covering 1 for my wedding. Another won’t be seen because of the dress. The third I will keep visible.

The theme is Grease. They are very much me. I love my tattoos. The biggest one that wants me to hide them is my grandma. One won't be visible because of my dress.

If you love them and they are your thing, I say don’t cover. It’s your day, your choice. I think they are all beautiful. I’m having all 3 of my visible tattoos out. My other 3 aren’t visible. It really depends on how you want the pictures and how you want to look on your wedding day! Smiley smile

I don’t believe in hiding part of yourself for your wedding.

Do what YOU want. If you want to cover them, cover, and if not, don't. Don't let us, or family or friends or anyone tell you what is right

I personally will be showcasing one of my tattoos essentially, I picked a dress that the back frames my back tattoo nicely. If anyone has an issue with it, well, they aren't the ones marrying me, FH is and he will love how I will look I am sure

I assume you like your tattoos.
If you don't want to hide them, don't.
And if 20 years down the road you wish you had covered them, photoshop them out.

Your grandmother had her day and now you will be having yours. She will get over it or let something so small, that mostly sounds like family tribute to me, ruin her day. That...is a personal problem and you don’t need to worry about it because it isn’t yours to fix.
    Do what YOU want.

Your tattoos are a part of you. You shouldn't cover up who you are to fit some "bridal image" that others have decided you need to conform to. I agree with others. If you want to show them, rock that ink. If YOU don't want them seen, then cover them up. Just make sure your decision is based on your vision of yourself on your wedding day and not someone else's.

I wouldn’t hide them. They’re a part of who you are. And if your theme is Grease/Rockabilly, tattoos fit in perfectly with the theme.

I didn't even think about that, lol. I should have because I love Grease and CryBaby. But, yes the theme is definitely Grease. I just love that era

I say let them show. Tattoos are an art form. They all have special meaning to you.
Why not? It's your wedding after all. Smiley smile you are in control of what you do.
Don't worry about what others think or say, just be you.

They are part of you, and you shouldn’t have to hide yourself at your wedding for other people’s preferences.

I don’t think you should hide them if you don’t want to. I have arm tattoos that I plan on hiding with a long sleeve dress but that’s my opinion. If someone told me to hide them for them, I wouldn’t do it. Do what makes you happy!

Personally I don't think you need to cover them up unless you want to. You love them and so does your FH and that's all that matters!

Remember, this is your wedding & not your family members wedding.

I think they're beautiful, all the more so because of the meaning behind each. I especially love your Furbaby's pawprint! Such a wonderful remembrance of them. Smiley smile

I say let them show. If you love them, and your fiance loves them, everyone else can keep their opinions to themselves.
