Infinity Dresses - How to Make MOH standout

Marie, on November 9, 2017 at 6:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor will be wearing navy infinity dresses. Our wedding colors are navy and decor and flower accent colors are gold, blush and cream. We would love for the MOH to stand out a little more but cannot come up with nice ideas. Has anyone worn an infinity gown and added a belt? Would love to hear what you all suggest.

I have never understood why the MOH needs to stand out, so I would skip it. But one option is to do something different with her bouquet.

Different bouquet, she can wear a different shade of blue or if you have a second colour - for instance navy and rose gold - she could wear a rose gold dress.

She doesn't have to stand out. People will know she's a MOH by where she stands at the altar - right next to you.

Different bouquet, different jewelry, add a belt? Since it is an infinity dress, maybe have her tie hers a different way from the other girls?

Honestly I think it might be pretty to have the florist make a small hair piece for her

I'm with PP and don't understand why the MOH needs to stand out. Does the BM need to stand out as well? The focus should be on the couple and people will know who's who in the WP by where they stand.

I've seen the MOH in a different color, different jewelry, different flowers.

I'm with @awizardwedding and like the flower hair piece- unless that may possibly take away from your accessories/plans!

And are you the mother of the bride? why are you making bridal party decisions if that's the case?

I think the MOH stands out enough, standing right next to the bride. IMO only.

@JoRocka Yes I am the mother of the bride and I am not making decisions. My daughter is not on Wedding Wire and she asked me if we needed to make her MOH look a little different than the rest of the girls last night, hence my post. I do know wedding etiquette.

I think that is awesome!!! My MOH is wearing a different color. You could add a cool belt or have a slightly bigger bouquet for her

Sometimes the MOH dress will be a different color then the BM's or a slightly different style. But I would say about 90% of the time, (from what I see on the weekends), they are all the same. My daughter is also not on WW, so it is nice to see the opinions of other brides.
