Inexpensive Venues in/near Bucks County

Noel, on May 13, 2016 at 10:20 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

My fiancee and I are looking to get married next summer, probably sometime the end of June. I know that is hard because so many people like to get married then, but it would be best since I am a teacher. I have a big family and our guests would be around 180-200 people. I am looking for a place that is less than $90 a person (preferably $60-80). It may be a long shot, but just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places near Bucks County (doesn't have to be in Bucks)

Thank you! Smiley smile

    I know, know, know you don't want to hear this, but cut your list. For real. Because you're at the beginning of this journey and there is virtually nothing that gets less expensive as you get closer.....

    Try the Joseph Ambler Inn; I was there last week, and it was sweet, rustic and the people were lovely to work with. It's in North Wales, just next to Bucks....

    In Bucks; Font Hill is beautiful. You bring your own caterer, I believe.

    Think about NJ; Mountain Lakes House, in Princeton, the Prallsville Mill, in Stockton,

    The Historic Red Lion Inn, Quakertown. They have a large area for a reception as well as the theater if you wanted to rent for the actual ceremony. They have excellent food there and the owner Jan is great! I was actually looking into getting married there because I know the owner but my original place worked out and it was closer to where I lived. She has all her prices listed online as well.

    Thank you!! I will definitely look into those places! They sound wonderful. Unfortunately I cannot cut my list much. I am Greek and Italian, so it is just big to begin with.

    You may want to start thinking about Sundays, Fridays, early in the day, etc.

    That's a tough price to find for the area. But PP have given you a good place to start.

    If you have trouble finding a place, ask about the winter. I know a couple teachers that picked winter break and spring break and waited to go on their honeymoon.

    There is a place that is reasonably priced and really nice right near the intersection of street road and second Street pike called Maggios. Try there.

    I'm not sure the max limit but you may be lucky.

    Everyone can cut their guest list;

    You need;

    parents

    siblings and so's

    your best friends on the planet

    You don't need;

    aunts and uncles

    cousins

    work friends

    parents' friends

    people you haven't talked to in a year

    Easy peasy; it'll be cut in half in a heartbeat.

    My friends sister's reception was at a banquet hall in Bucks County, around 5 years ago. Her mother told mine that it was $109 per person, including servicer charge, tax, cake, and centerpieces. I saw photos of the cocktail hour food spread, and it was bigger than what my cousins served, during their entire reception. Maybe if you go with a bare-bones package, on a Friday or Sunday night, you could get the price down to your budget amount.

    We married in a state with no sales tax and save thousands, by booking almost all our vendors there. We also got the Sunday rate, at about 20% cheaper per person, than on a Saturday night.

    Parks are a great option too if you're not trying to be fancy. I don't know your area but I know that some parks have outdoor wedding lawns as well as indoor venues that can be rented out for a reception. You would probably just have to provide your own vendors. We have some really pretty ones on the lake so you may be able to find something in your area

    If you are flexible on date (I get it, I'm a teacher too), try Northampton Valley Country Club in Richboro.

    French creek golf club, coatesville country club, philander chase Knox estate, Columbia station. Most of these are in mont co or Chesco but they're going to be cheaper than bucks county because they're further from the city
