It'll get dark at our wedding reception, which is at a picnic shelter at a state park. We have a medieval theme and I thought we could use a lot of candles from Dollar Tree, plus the two fireplaces that the shelter has. Otherwise I'm not sure what to do about lighting. The candles won't be out as much after dinner when we move the tables for dancing and I want enough light for a photographer to be able to get good pictures. Would string lights provide enough light? Does anyone know of any lights that would be fairly inexpensive (less than $1/foot)? I've also thought of renting chandeliers but they're $95 per chandelier, which seems like a lot to me.

@Alicia, I will check that out! I am using string light to light my backyard wedding and we've been collecting many from my house, my mom's, my aunts' houses, etc., but that price is really great! Do they have good reviews? Like the lights are functioning and not a death hazard (like some reviews on string lights shown on Amazon sound like they are produced hella sketchy and will burn your house down.)

Borrow white string lights from friends and family! Ask around, I'm sure people would be happy to lend it to you after the holidays! Just put a piece of masking tape near the plug with the person's name on it so you can make sure you get the right lights back to their rightful owners. See what you can borrow first, and as others have said, check out after Christmas sales to fill in any "gaps" in what you need.
