Inexpensive honeymoon ideas for October 2020

Kimberly, on August 20, 2020 at 12:52 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

Hello All,

My FH and I had to cancel our cruise due to covid. I was told it would be at least 90 days before we get our refund back so that put a damper on our plans. Any ideas on an inexpensive honeymoon trip we can take in or from Texas? We talked about driving to save money since we will be using our savings in the mean time. We desperately need a vacation (Have not had one in YEARS). Any and all suggestions would be amazing!

Did you cancel the cruise or the cruise company? My friends had a cruise scheduled in October and the company canceled them and they got their refund in less than 72 hours.

Airline tickets are at an all-time low right now, you can probably find some great deals along with rental cars my friend just got one for Miami at 0.01 per day. LOL.. yes, 1 cent.

Are you looking for beaches, mountains, desert?

The cruise company, Carnival to be more specific. WHAT?! I tired calling customer service yesterday but couldn’t get ahold of anyone within the hour so I thought I’d try again today.

Nothing specific, just want to get away! I’ll definitely look into right now! Thank you 💕

I don't know what cruise company they were using, I know it was going out of FL, but he and I just spoke about this the other day and both he and his wife were surprised the money was already in their account so quickly as they too anticipated a long return of funds.

I just recommended my friend's travel agency - maybe he can help find you something for your honeymoon.

I recommend New Orleans or Baton Rouge, LA. Depending on what part of TX you live in, then I recommend Colorado or New mexico.

Flights are so cheap right now, that I'd look at where you can fly nonstop since it will help maximize your time. You could do San Diego, CA. It's such a great city with so much to do, that even if a lot is still under restrictions, you can definitely have a wonderful time.

New Mexico has some pretty strict rules right now. While we absolutely love tourist and we have so many amazing places, our state is still pretty much shut down. Visitors are required to quarantine for 14 days once arriving. The state parks are also closed to out of state residents. My FH has to carry his military orders to prove he’s stationed here when we travel to state parks because they are checking IDs and license plates. He isn’t a resident, I am. We are all hoping we meet to criteria to open in September though. 🤞🏻

Colorado is absolutely amazing though, if you’re on the west side of Texas. And I hear San Antonio is awesome if that’s closer. I’ve always wanted to see the river walk.
