So I know this may seem weird but...My 14 year old pug passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. To say my heart is shattered at the least....i am truly heartbroken. I dont care what anyone says about how people care to much about their animals, or "its just a dog." No, he was my baby. My whole entire world revolved around Otis. Literally I had a routine every single day for him. He was the one thing noone could take from me, the one thing that was all mine and our bond is unbreakable. I want to incorporate him into the wedding some how and am searching for ideas and opinions. My FMIL think a pic on the memory table is enough but i COMPLETELY DISAGREE. Not to sound selfish but like I said Otis was my child. I feel like he deserves more then just a picture on the memory table! I haven't been without him for 13 years(i adopted him when he was one), he went everywhere possible with me! So i need ideas.. One thing I have thought of is having a favor bar of one of his favorite treats at the(cont)

Awe, I'm so sorry for your loss. I unexpectedly lost my shih tzu a little over a week ago and it's devastating. =[ I like the treat bar idea!

The idea of the treats, for dogs and cats, is sweet. Objects that belonged to Otis? I think it's too much (not just for you, but perhaps for your guests). You don't know who might have recently lost a pet, and a pet bed might just push them over the edge.

And I'm so sorry, truly, for your loss. I know it hurts like hell.

So sorry for your loss. I like the treat bar idea.

What about wrapping his collar around the handle of your bouquet? Or pinning a small picture of him on your bouquet? That way, he can be close to you on your big day. Smiley smile

I'm going to second someone's suggestion of using his doggie collar to hold your bouquet! That's a nice personal way to keep his spirit close and the doggie treat bar (please make SURE that's there are multiple large signs indicating these are for CANINE CONSUMPTION not people!) is a good public one. In my opinion, more than those 2 inclusions may be going overboard.

Please also remember your grief is very FRESH and NEW right now and you may be feeling the need to do a million different types of memorials at the wedding for him because of how dear he was to you. Take some time to sit with the grief before you decide on anything bigger/more elaborate than the above two-options. You may discover in a month that you feel okay with honoring him in the above-listed (or more discreet) ways.

I'm very sorry for your loss and wish you and your honey all the best for your wedding day and beyond.

I like the collar idea. You don't want to have too much going on to make you sad on your day. I am very sorry for your loss Smiley sad

I like the idea of taking his tag and putting it on your bouquet
