Incognito nipples

Bride2B2017, on January 15, 2017 at 6:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

As you can guess from the title - I have a bit of a nipple issue. So I found my dress, ordered it, LOVE it. However, I hate the weird cups that are sewn inside the top. I plan to have these removed which my alterations woman said would be no problem. However, what am I supposed to do about my nipples peeking through!? I love how I can see my skin through the beading, but I don't want guests, esp my conservative mother to see a bead, oh no wait that's a nipple! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

Get the nipple petals from target! I'm using them for my wedding for a different purpose, but they would work perfectly for you! They're only about $10 and they're reusable.

Could your seamstress add a nude-colored liner under the entire top? Just a suggestion, that's what I would do to feel the most comfortable and avoid a slip.

I love the top! Could you wear a padded bandeau? Or could she sew a bra in that you do like?

Can you have more suitable breast pads sewn in?

I like allyson's idea. I'd find a nude colored fabric that's as close to your skin tone as possible and line the whole thing

You definitely need fabric under there, not just nipple petals. Can you find nude cups?

I think it is a bit too shear just for nipple covers. I agree with pp and say that you should have some sort of skin colored fabric under it.

Well it comes with cups that are nude but I hate how it looks! It looks like weird coconut shell under all the gorgeous beading Smiley sad I'm going to try every nipple petal made before I panic

I wear the petal nipple covers for things but if you can see through the dress then they will see the petal shaped covers. They don't match my skin color that well so it might be a different kind of distraction. Is there a way the seamstress can sew something else in?

Uhhh if the top is sheer you need cups and or a nude lining.

Love the dress! But definitely agree that the cups sewn in are hideous. I think a lace bandeau could help possibly. With the sheerness you may want to cover a little more than the nipples lol. Have you thought about doing different cups?

You need more than nipple covers I think - it's totally see through!

I'd definitely ask her to add some fabric or cups that match your skin tone- a sheer front might be a bit risqué for a wedding, even if the the nips are covered Smiley winking

It's going to look weird with anything except a full liner like pp's have mentioned. This is a very revealing top. If you have adhesives or petals covering you, those will be very noticeable through that material. I suggest the liner or even a cami of some sort.

I agree with pps suggestion of lining the entire top with nude fabric. That way you aren't risking a slip, without the weirdness of the cups showing.

ETA: I also agree that any petals/covers will show.

@allysonr. I think that's a great idea! OP- love the top!! If you don't go with Allyson's idea, I would go with the reusable nipple petals. I have some and they work great!

I'm just here to say I agree with OGA and Sass. I think a liner is necessary.
