Include Minister in Guest Count?

amandal0514, on January 24, 2016 at 1:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

There's only room for 55 guests. Do I include the minister in that 55? What about the photographer?

Minister yes. Most people offer meals to photographer and band/dj if the venue allows.

For the reception, yes definitely if they'll both be present. You should plan to have a meal for your photographer, if you're having a meal-time reception. Your minister would be a guest at this point, too.

If you're talking about the ceremony, find out if the 55 limit is a fire code limit or the number of seats in the room. If it's the fire safety limit, they would count in the numbers.

Yes to the photographer and dj.

If your minister is a family pastor that you or your family has known for years, then yes. If it's a rentable person like me, you should always invite us, but we will rarely say yes. It's not cause we don't love ya, but we don't know anyone, we probably have another place to be, and I personally don't want you to pay for me. I usually stay for some of cocktail hour to be a bit social, but never beyond that.

Oh wow I never thought of this! So glad I read this, do you still pay for meals if the DJ and minister are included in your venue package?

Hmmm...good question!! What about if your DOC comes with her "team"? Are you supposed to include them too?

Yes, you should be feeding all of your vendors!

You count your minister (and other vendors) if they will be there for the reception. Typically, the minister will not stay, unless s/he knows you well.

Anyone who is going to be there for the duration should be fed, but your venue probably has vendor priced meals.
