In rehearsal do you actually rehearse walking down the isle too?

I've heard some brides say they didn't want to practice that part because they wanted the "effect" of it to be for the first time at the real wedding. So.....

What do you think? What have you done? What do you plan to do? My rehearsal is only in a few days and I'm trying to decide if I should practice that part. My only issue is I really wanted to time the walk because I want the whole song to play and I'm not sure if the isle is long enough.

I think it is important for everyone to walk including you if you are timing it to a song. If you think your fake aisle isn't long enough, is there a way you could the actual rehearsal part somewhere else that has enough room or even outside?

I plan to have everyone walk during rehearsal, but I have been a BM at a wedding where the rehearsal was a flop. They had an hour at the venue and people were running late so we mostly sat around talking, waiting for everyone to show up and by the time we were ready, too late - had to do a very quick one. Day of wedding came and everyone was unsure, luckily the venue lady knew nobody was prepared and directed everyone. The wedding also end up starting an hour and a half later than scheduled because we were waiting on the groom's mom and sister to arrive. Not only was everyone bored waiting, but they missed their chance to get some very nice formal pictures done outside at the pretty locations. The photog just took them inside.

Timing is everything. So I say practice it, to the song you want to use that way you can reach the alter exactly when you want to. Also, remind all members at the rehearsal about being on time. Maybe even tell them to arrive earlier.

My pastor would not let me walk down until the day of. What is there to practice about walking to to join hand with the one you love. Have of us should be running...lol But good luck on what ever your decision is, just get down the aisle.

I was told today it was bad luck to do the walking myself. I never heard that before that is why I looked it up on here.
