I have not even the slightest idea of what I'm doing. Where do I even start?

WeddingWire has a great checklist. The top three things to figure out are budget and guest list and venue

Celebrate! Congrats. 🎉🎈🍾 did you just get engaged? I️ got Engaged a year ago. Can’t believe I’ve even been on this app that long. That being said I️ started off celebrating. Time starts flying. Originally we had 4/3/21 as our wedding date. But with COVID happening we’ve actually decided to have a Zoom wedding! We honestly just couldn’t wait any longer. We even have a venue in Vegas already booked for our original date. I️ say All this to say there is no right place to start. As long as you enjoy the journey. Create a budget and go from there. Pick a location too and officiant. Those are the top three. Everything else falls into place. 💜💜

Wedding planner apps are a LIFESAVER. Essentially you want to start off creating a guest list so you can get an estimate of how many people, create a budget then choose a venue! EVERYTHING is dependent on your venue essentially.

    Girl Congrats!

First things first...start with a budget, and think about the things, services, etc. that are most important to you and make a list of those, and set a budget amount for each respective category, vendor, or venue.

Then start looking for things within your budgeted price range. Smiley smile

    Good luck!

I agree with the others, budget first. Figure out your top 5 or so non-negotiables. For me, I was firm on getting a venue with a view, eloping, and hiring a really talented photographer. Everything else I decided to be as budget savvy as possible. A lot of traditional weddings have so many extra things that will cost you, that few guests would even notice.

Our total spendings came to a little under $7k, but $4.5k of that was on venue and photographer alone. And it could have been done much cheaper too! I just wanted an elopement where I felt I didn't have to hold back as much on spending, instead of having a traditional wedding where I would be cutting corners and still ultimately spend more. Hopefully that makes sense? (For example, a nicer venue around here to rent for 6 hrs that'd accommodate more guests starts around $6k.)
