You don’t have to have one. You can just have groomsmen. I had the same problem, so I have a Maid of Honor and a Chiefs Bridesmaid.

I chose my maid of honor because I’m significantly closer to her than any other friend. Like she’s someone I’ve known since I was 12, and I talk to her literally every day even though we live across the country now. Most of my other friends (even the ones I care about a lot and am relatively close to) I talk to maybe once a month, if that. My husband chose his best man because it’s just the one friend who stuck out to him above the others... it was kinda like a gut feeling for him. It was a friend who has been very brother-like to him over the years.

I’d say honestly if you don’t get a gut feeling about who to make your best man, I wouldn’t have one. Just have groomsmen. Unless one friend already distinctly stands out above the others, I wouldn’t bother trying to rank them and choose which one to put above the others.

There were two I couldn’t choose between, so I honored them both. If you have more than two that you can’t choose between you can just keep them all as groomsmen. It is a difficult decision, I love them both.

I agree you don’t need one. My husband didn’t designate anyone of his groomsmen as best man

My FH made a list of his groomsmen/groomswoman and picked the one he felt most comfortable being in charge of the best person duties. He asked himself who would make sure I am on time? Who is the best at to do lists? Who would shine organizing the bachelor party? And just go down the list of duties to see who would fit the best.
If no one person stands out don't have a best man split up the duties amongst the groomsmen from the answers to the questions mentioned before. I'm doing that with my bridesmaids as they each are strong with different tasks and I could not pick one over the others as MOH. They love it as that means that one will not get overwhelmed with everything they need to do.

You don’t need one. Our wedding we have 2 because he picked his brothers and I have 1 matron of honor. We are going to have them in separate colors to stand out from the bridal party.

I'm having two MOH's and two bridesmaids, but you don't need to have a best man at all.
