I'm not excited

Melissa, on August 13, 2021 at 1:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hello fellow Brides out there, I have a question. My wedding is 9 days away. After 8 hard months of planning I can't believe it's around the corner. However, im NOT excited. Everyone else is more excited than me. I'm just ready to get it over with. Wedding planning has bee a nightmare and I'm so over it. Wanted to know if this is normal???

Definitely normal. We have our reception coming up in October and at this point I am ready for it to come & go. Wedding planning is overwhelming.

    Totally normal.

    You're burned out.

Wedding planning is stressful, and you've hit the pre-wedding lull where you probably have very little due or to do.

You'll feel better the day of, when it really, truly is happening.

I felt the same way. It’s a lot of stress to plan a wedding. The morning of I was very excited.

From what I've heard that is pretty normal. One of my friends said she couldn't wait to get it over with. I think the day of you'll enjoy it, but i definitely understand what you mean. You're not alone.

Nine days out, I was telling everyone how we were just ready to be over with it. Not because we dreaded it or anything, we were just ready to move on already! Total normal feelings. Smiley smile When your day gets here, it will all be worth it!

Totally normal. ESPECIALLY being a #covidbride! I feel like we've had MORE stress than just normal wedding stress. I wouldn't worry to much right now about a lack of excitement because I bet on the day of you'll forget about all the stress and everything will come together. Just remember that your wedding day is about you and don't let anyone make it about them (besides your significant other of course). I'm planning on taking the day before (if not two days before) so turn off social media and just be with my fiancé. Maybe start talking about what you expect out of the day, if you have any special requests, see if your FH has any expectations or requests. It could be fun and maybe bring some pure excitement between the two of you Smiley smile I hope you guys have a lovely wedding!

Everyone kept asking me “are you excited? Are you ready?” And I couldn’t answer yes to either of those questions hahah - I was more worried would all the pieces of the puzzle get put together. After everything was finalized and set (Thursday before Saturday wedding) I finally felt relaxed enough to get excited and feel ready!

I'm a little over a year out still and I feel like I'm not as excited as most people are or act, I'm a very type-a personality and I am a planner and the whole thing stresses me out, planning something of this size and for this amount of money stresses me and takes away that excitement. I don't think I'll feel that "bride" excitement until i'm all done planning and everything on my list is crossed off and everything is paid for. So i get it.

    Hi Ashlee
Your so right!!! The stress of ALL of this has definitely taken away the excitement of it all. And I get anxiety when people ask me questions. But we're now 8 days away, I can feel the stress coming off my shoulders and the excitement creeping in.
