Im new at this and my Master and Mistress of ceremonies feeling slighted.... please HELP!!!

Jennifer, on July 2, 2012 at 8:51 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hey everyone! I am getting married in November and I have asked my future sister and brother-in-law to be the master and mistress of ceremonies. Unfortunately my future sister-in-law is feeling slighted because there isn't much for her to do before the day of the wedding. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on any specific responsibilities I could give her to do up to the day of the wedding. I wouldn't say I am a control freak, but I do like to do most of the planning myself. Any advice on how to solve this problem would be most appreciated, I meant this job to be an honor, not an insult.

Being an MC for a wedding is a lot of work - she has to know everyone's names, encourage guests to move for cocktail hour and dinner and dancing and such, Taking any pressure off you on your wedding day is SO helpful! If she's married, she should know that.

You could have her help with seating arrangements, and invites then she would know who all was invited where they were sitting. You could also have her come to a fitting or another bridesmaid type thing so she could get to know the wedding party.

I would definitely have her help you with invites and seating charts (if you choose to do one) it will help her learn everyone's names and it can be a great bonding experience for the two of you. You could also have her help you with any DIY projects you may be doing. That will keep her busy and keep you happy and guilt free!!
