I’m Freaking out!!!

Ashley, on July 29, 2021 at 2:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
My wedding is Sunday August 1. The alterations place just told 3 of my bridesmaids that there dress will not be ready because her mom is in the hospital. I am freaking out because I don’t know what do. We are trying to find someone who can have them finished by the wedding. I am so overwhelmed I don’t what to do if their dresses are not ready in time.

So, two of my outfits did not fit when I finally received them a couple days before my wedding. I had to fly to Houston two days before my wedding to try and fix it in ONE day. BREATHE. It will all work out.

Look on the thumbtack app and try to find a tailor/seamstress.
You and all your bridesmaids get in the phone and call every seamstress and dry cleaners you know and see if you can get it fixed.

I second the advice to just breathe! Everything will end up okay. Call every seamstress you can within whatever you decide is a reasonable radius - that might be like 3 hours away if everyone can make time to get there.

Only if you can't find someone, then you can consider having them find new dresses, but try and find one first. If you need to find new dresses check FB groups for people selling theirs.

Also, Amazon prime is amazing if you have to order a bee dress on short notice for a reasonable price.

I'm so sorry this is happening! 1st, take a breath, everything WILL work out. Next, If you have facebook, try posting on facebook what's going on and see if you know any one who could possibly help. I know someone who had something similar happened and a guy she knew through facebook actually ended up being able to help very quickly! sometimes people you least expect are ones that can help in a sticky situation. If worst comes to worst, and i know it's not ideal, I have to agree with Rebelle.. If you aren't able to find help I would go ahead and start looking for alternates on Amazon they do have tons of good finds and if ordred today or tomorrow, they could be in by the 1st. Keep us updated and have faith that everything is going to work out Smiley smile

What are the alterations needed? In the wedding I was in, 1 of the bridesmaids didn't even hem their dresses. One tied a stylish knot in the skirt to shorten it to floor length. The other pinned it to length. Both did their DIY "alterations" on the morning of, and looked fantastic. I don't think anyone got alterarions aside from hemming. My friend's dress was too tight, but they managed to zip her into it.

Alterations don't take long, there are lots of places that do them, and they're often not even necessary.
    You'll be ok!
