I'm convinced mother nature hates me....

FutureMrsE, on February 26, 2014 at 7:08 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 22

*I want to preface this by saying I live in Houston and in Houston freezing is like 60. Hahaha*

So I have moved my outdoor engagement pics several times over the last few months due to the weather. The last time being in Jan I made a date for 3 weeks later and it turned out to be the coldest day of winter here.

After that instance I moved my date to March 3rd (next Monday) which is pushing it since that's 6 months before wedding and want these pics for my save the dates. I just looked at weather it's supposed to be 50% chance of rain and the high is 54 (the previous two days the weather is high 70s).

Mother Nature obviously hates me. I can't risk moving the date anymore b/c we are pushing it as it is. Besides I would have to find dates that my hair, MUA, AND photographer all agree on and that can be challenging.

Ok...rant over.

If it's cold - tough it out (I'm from CA, so I know what you mean about the weather). Check and see when the rain is supposed to come and try to rearrange the timing so that it rains before or after. Some of the best photos can happen with slightly overcast skies!

If it rains, it rains. Just be prepared - bring a fun umbrella, wear raincoats and galoshes, get wet (toward the end of the shoot). Just have fun with it... it'll be worth it in the end.

Use the rain as a prop. Get some cute wellingtons, trench coats and umbrellas. I think it would be adorable.

I'm with Erin! I've got 13 here... going to get down to -7 tonight. No thank you.

I hope the weather holds for you! The forecast could change before then. And if not, I'm sure your pictures will be beautiful and maybe you'll even get a good story out of it?

Girl please. It rained today, and I went to DB at San Felipe for bm dresses. Lemme tell ya! Took me almost an HOUR, from 59 south/610 west, to get over to 290/610 bc of that cluster f they call Ella and 610!!! They've been working on that 2 mile strip since I moved here in 2007.

Otherwise, if you can get your photog to go north, the woodlands have allegedly not seen as much crap as we have(I'm in huffman), and the woodlands waterway can be pretty if you catch it at dusk with the lights on ;-)

Or push it back to the 15th when they have the Battleship Texas Cenntenial, and you can get all the fireworks etc :-)

Man today I said wow I hope it's close to beinf in the 30s today, I would love to walk a couple miles today.

    I can't imagine a world where 50 is cold.

We always laugh because FH is from the south and his family thinks 50 is so cold.

I think the cute umbrella idea is cute. I love the clear umbrellas they make.

Girl please.. I would be dancing around in a bikini if it were 54 degrees here. The 3 days last week it got above freezing it felt like summer. This is my current temp. That is air temperature. Wind makes it feel like -28.

Yes to umbrellas. How about a cute blanket that you can snuggle under and hold a cup of steaming Sbux with your date on it?

If it'd were 50 degrees right now I'd be out walking the dog in a t shirt! I think just wear something a little warmer and suck it up and be cold. Our epics I was freezing it was October and windy I had a dress on and t shirt for other pics. I promise you will survive and have a story to tell about your epic day later,

It's been in the -30s and -40s (yes, negatives) here for the past three months. We are doing some pics in two weeks. Just wear a cute sweater or something! I'd be in shorts if it was that warm here lol
