I'm a little torn

Makayla, on February 16, 2024 at 4:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Im not a very traditional person. Of course I want a traditional style wedding, but we're not getting married in a church and my main thing is......I don't want to wear a white dress...my color theme is Cinderella blue and lilac purple. I want to wear a light blue dress....what are your thoughts on non-
traditional colored bridal dresses?

Wear a dress that you love and makes you feel like a bride. That’s different for everyone. There are some lovely colored wedding dresses, or dresses with pops of color.

LOVE them! I wore non-traditional colors for both of our weddings, and I have zero regrets!

GO FOR IT! This is your wedding so wear the colors you want. My day will be nowhere near traditional but it's my day and that's how I want it. I love those colors together so I know it will be beautiful.

There are dresses with an underlayer of blue so it contributes a slight blue tone to the dress.

It’s your day wear what you want to wear doll. Whatever makes you happy at the end of the day is all that matters.

Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful. White is a very recent trend in the grand scheme of history. Prior to Queen Victoria getting married in the 1880s and brides in the early 1900s-1910s copying her as a fashion statement, white was not worn at all by brides due to its impracticality of being worn one time only. Before that, brides wore a colored (not pastel because they couldn’t afford to replace one time wear) dress they already owned. Asian brides still wear red at some point in their wedding day.
