Illusion Mesh doesn’t match skin tone

Victoria, on January 15, 2020 at 6:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
I found a dress I love at David’s. My only complaint is the mesh doesn’t match my skin tone. I’m a lot darker than the illusion mesh on my back and you can see it and around my straps and top of my back ;( does anyone have a solution for this? We got engaged on Christmas and the wedding is in May so I don’t have much time and my dress isn’t expected to arrive until late April.

Besides eliminating the mesh areas, or adding extra fabric underneath or over.. not sure what else can be done. I would definately get in and talk to them asap! Good luck!

I agree that you should talk to the alterations department soon. They do make mesh for darker skin tones, but I am not sure how how complex of a change that would be. Only the seamstress would know for your exact dress.

Interesting! I was always skeptical about whether that illusion mesh worked on darker skin tones. 🤔 Best wishes and I hope that it all works out for you to get your dress.

I’m dealing with this right now. I know it can be replaced and the bridal shop where I brought my dress provided the mesh. The problem is finding a seamstress who can do it. I just had a lady tell me it wouldn’t make that much of a difference and that all she could do is make it another layer underneath what’s already there and couldn’t take the existing mesh off. I don’t think it’s fair we even have to pay additional for this bc the dresses just arent made to match us.

You can see it here honestly in the light you could not tell it wasn’t an exact match
