Attn: fashionistas

I am going to be be wearing a fitted tea length lace dress. So of course my ankle and foot will be showing. I cant wear high heels because I dont want to be taller than fh. I also don't want to wear flats, because people will see. Is there a small- low pump shoe that look like higher heels? Any suggestion to the type of shoe I should wear, I'm also thinking ankle boots or wedge maybe? Please help, thanks in advance! Picture of a similar dress I'll be wearing, we are also doing a desert theme if that helps. I heard the color nude shoe is also helpful in making legs look longer, any truth to this? Sorry, I'm all over the place, as usual

What time of year are you getting married? I think an ankle boot would go nicely with that dress. I know this image isn’t the same dress but the boots in the picture I think would go nice with yours.

A wedge, a boot unless these are all flat(can’t have a flat wedge) you mine as well wear a heel.

A boot with a 1.5-2.5” heel is the same as a traditional heel with 1.5-2.5” heel.
Kitten heel OR a shoe that’s 100% flat.

How many inches can you pull off before you are taller than FH?

I would even look into ballroom dancing shoes. The heels are on the low side, but they have a nice shape to them.

I think that a pointy toe gives the illusion of a higher heel/dressier shoe. If you're wanting timeless I'd go with a nude classic kitten heel. Ankle boots would give a more trendy, fashionista look, which I also love!
My preferred approach is to buy the styles I'm torn between from somewhere with a good return policy, and compare them. Sometimes you just have to try the whole outfit to see how it comes together.

I would wear flats or a kitten heel, or just accept the height difference. I would not wear boots or booties with that dress...it is soo intricate and beautiful!

I would go on Zappos and filter by heel height. There are quite a few options in all sorts of heights.

That being said, own your height! Both my mom and sister are quite a bit taller than their husbands, and walk around proud and tall!

Yes I definitely want to keep it 2 or less. Plus our venue is an adobe with many levels and steps. I'm 5'5 and he's 5'8.

These are awesome! Lots of great input here, thanks ladies. I thought the ankle boots would fit my desert theme..my dress is more of a thick southwestern lace than this photo. I'll also be wearing dainty turquoise jewelry. But your right, I think I might wear my dress out to find the right shoes.

I know you posted this a few weeks ago but I just have to say 1. I loveee that dress and 2. I think it would look so so cool with a white ankle boot, especially for the desert theme. I love the Free People ones posted above or these (though these are obviously super expensive).

Yes, Im pulling more towards booties. Im loving the deep v cut in front of ankle boots. Unfortunately, the only ones I see are too high.
