Illusion Dress Debate

Hi y’all! I need some suggestions/recommendations on illusion color for the bridal gown I love. I’m pale, however will be getting a light spray tan for my big day. The dress I’m planning on getting has a “tan” illusion and when trying it on, you can tell right away it looked a lot darker against my skin. It wasn’t horrible but I still have my doubts. The illusion also comes in “toffee” which is said to be lighter. They did not have an example and even if they did, they could not guarantee that it would be the same color due to designer. They said they have ordered a sample of the toffee from said designer but no word on when it’ll arrive. I’m telling myself with my spray tan and makeup, I’ll have no issue blending everything to look barely noticeable but I’m not 100% yet… HELP!!! (Wedding is in January so I have wiggle room but not trying to wait more than a week Illusion Dress Debate 1

    First off, I LOVE that gown!!!

    I don't think the illusion looks too different from your natural skin tone in the picture. Could you get a spray tan and then go back and try the dress on?

    I don't know what the best choice is but here is my 2 cents. The color of the current illusion is not very noticeable in the photo. I had to look for it to notice where it started. I am not sure how it will look with the toffee but I would say the Tan actually looks very close to your skintone already. It is just a hair darker and that is without your skin having any spray tan.

    That helps a lot hearing that. I think just the right amount of spray tan would blend it right in. I’m way too afraid to order a lighter illusion without seeing it on my first (figured it’s easier to blend a little tanner than more pale)

    Love it!😍 my dress is similar to yours too and I also ordered tan illusion on mine, looking at the picture don’t see a huge difference between the illusion and your skin color. Think it will be even more close once you get a tan✨

    Same. I can’t tell at all that the mesh is a different color from your skin. I would be concerned about the spray tan rubbing onto the dress and staining it.
