If I don't wear white (shower edition)...

glam2013, on March 22, 2013 at 11:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Is it in bad taste if I don't wear white to my bridal shower tomorrow? I always prefer to try things on in person and wait around this time of year (glad I did) as Atlanta was cold today. I found a color block dress turquoise, blue and black and it comes right to the bottom of my knee so appropriate for sitting...I either wanted bold colors at a conservative length or basic color a little short. Well now I'm having just a little doubt...

Is it ok I won't be wearing white tomorrow? I can still get up in the morning and fine something else!

I know I know...I sweat all the details lately!!!!

I didn't wear white (it was also a surprise co-ed shower, so I wore jeans and a blouse). I wore a black dress to my bachelorette party and blue dress to the dress rehearsal. Even my wedding dress was noticeably off-white (darker than ivory). I know a lot of women wear white to these events, but it honestly never even crossed my mind. I think you're good! Enjoy your shower!

Wear whatever makes you feel fab! I've never heard of the must wear white to a bridal shower rule! You make the dress code, you're the bride!

I never heard of that... No use of wearing a white dress to the bridal shower when my wedding dress isn't even white lol

Lol. I didn't wear the "conservative" dress...felt like I was going to church! Ended up wearing a deep blue peplum mini dres and some color block pumps! Felt great and comfy and u guys were absolutely right! Not one person commented on me "not wearing white" ...so just a "tradition" in my head Smiley smile

I didn't wear white! I think more of a trend is to wear a color that matches the season; like if you have a spring one, wear spring colors or floral prints or any one of your favorite dresses! I wore a teal maxi dress. I never heard of the must wear white for the shower or RD..I wanted to save me being in a white dress (well ivory!) for the wedding day :-)

I've never heard you're supposed to wear white to your shower. I sure and heck won't! FH bought be a bag full of Tide pens one year since I manage to drop food and drink on me so often. It's even worse if I wear white--I'm guaranteed to miss my mouth if I wear white!

I am only wearing white dress because my girls made the request. If they had not, I was going to wear black pants and a vintage sweater I bought last year at vintage store in Hollywood.

I'm having two bridal shower and wore white to the first one! This next shower I'm wearing a black romper and a white flower crown. I'm glad to see its not a big deal to not wear white because I was a little worried!

I was wondering the same thing but I said "screw it" hAha I'm wearing a hot pink strapless sundress. The hem is a high/low and the trim on the bottom is white. The dress was only $15! And I got some cute statement jewelry pieces to wear with it. I agree with the other posts I've read, why wear white when I'm not wearing white for the wedding. My gown is ivory. Happy weddings ladies!
