Ideas (or Where to Buy) Cheap Petals

Lily, on April 8, 2009 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I want to line my aisles and tables with petals. I'm trying to find the most economical way of doing so. I really don't have a preference on the type of petals, but I just want them to be cream and blue colored.

If you want fresh rose petals, check out www.freshrosepetals.com. They'll even customize the colors for you. www.petalgarden.com has silk and freeze dried rose petals! Hope this helps!

The Dollar store and ebay are the cheapest I have found. The dollar stores petals leave behind little residues so I would go with ebay, or even walmart.

If you want fresh goregeous petals, your florist can get them (BUT - my cost is $75 plus shipping per bag for 50 to 75 heads) Fresh, less than perfect petals (or heads) -check with your local grocer that has a flower shop in it. The Safeway here will sell their roses that are past their prime for cheap to free. And yes, for silks, Dollar Tree has them for a buck a bag. Its a small bag, but the price is right. Its highly unlikely that you will find fresh petals that are blue - the only naturally blue flower out there don't really have petals for scattering.

I got mine from our florist that did the wedding. It ended up cheaper to purchase the flower petals from her than to go online or even Michael's.

Check out Hobby Lobby, if you have one nearby. Their wedding items are usually 50% off. A few other options are Garden Ridge and Michaels.
