Ideas for a New Orleans French Quarter After Party

Nicole, on October 11, 2018 at 5:43 PM Posted in Louisiana Planning 1 6
Hi!
I am looking for recommendations for the after party for my New Orleans destination wedding. I want a bar that won’t be too crowded on a Saturday night but will have some music for some dancing yet it has seating and people can hear each other and talk if they want to. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Great to have you in the community, Nicole!

I'm not personally super familiar with New Orleans but I asked a friend who lived there for recommendations! She said for nightlife, go to Pat O'Briens or the Funky Pirate! Cafe du Monde is a New Orleans classic for breakfast but it isn't really a typical brunch place! I've heard that Katie's Restaurant and Two Chicks Cafe also have an amazing brunch.

A New Orleans wedding sounds like a blast!! How many people will be attending?!

Thanks so much!!! Probably will be 50ish people at the brunch, I’m guessing same at the after party. I think the wedding will be like 120. I’m actually goi g this weekend to check out places so thanks for the recommendation!

You might try Court of Two Sisters or Muriel's for brunch. I really like Coquette and they have a private room as well. I would suggest The Ruby Slipper (because the food), but I don't know if any of their locations can accommodate a private brunch of that many people. Do you want fancy or not for the after party? Do you want to set up the party ahead of time?

I would second The Funky Pirate. The Cat's Meow has karaoke. There's also Maison Bourbon. My after party was only ten people and we went to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, which is pretty decidedly un-fancy.
