Icecream bar

Katie, on June 28, 2019 at 12:04 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
I was thinking instead of Cake we’d have an icecream bae with different toppings. I am nervous though on the logistics. Would it be easier to have my venue scoop it where i pay $75 an hour or pre scoop myself but they don’t have a chest freezer that guests can grab from. Then venue scooping makes me nervous because what if they scoop too much bc they said they’ll provide bowls. I’m picture big soup bowls. Maybe provide my own bowls!? Help!

Tell them how many scoops per person. A scoop is a scoop no matter how big the bowl is.

You could always have people help you. My friend is doing ice cream bar but she's having her friends and family man it

I second this. If they want a second scoop they can go back for more.

I would definitely pay to have it scooped. Staff know good portion size and I went to a wedding where they did an ice cream bar (scooped by staff) and it was fabulous and easy. I wouldn't want people in formal wear trying to dig out ice cream by themselves personally. Too messy!

I wouldn’t have that either I was thinking of scooping it myself into containers with family and friends the week of. Good to know your experience went well - I think I’ll just leave it to the experts.

My cousin did pre-scooped at her wedding but it was on the smaller side. We’re hiring an ice cream truck to come out and and scoop. I thought about taking my cousin’s path since it worked out well for her, but realized my stress level would be way less with one less thing to worry about.
