Anybody getting one? Is it a little too much?

Screams 80s to me, unless it's really cool, in which case it's probably $$$$$$$$$$$.

I agree with m, it does seem pretty 80s. It doesn't seem worth the money to me.

Unless it's super cool (pun intended) and you're having a winter wedding, I would skip it.

It's for Winterfest not a wedding.

I remember the ice sculpture from our neighbors' backyard wedding when I was a kid (growing up in the '90s). I thought it was awesome, so I'm going to disagree. Do it if you like it!

(This is one of those cases where "this is your wedding! Do what you want!" is appropriate in my book as having an ice sculpture isn't going to affect whether you're properly hosting your guests.)

DH's cousin has one at her wedding last year, it was kinda cheesy but cute. It at a photo of them frozen in it and it had tunnels running through it and they would our limoncello down the tunnels. Seemed to be a big hit with this crowd( huge Italian family).

I've only seen an ice sculpture at one wedding I've been to...and I guess it fit because this was a reaaaalllly over the top wedding (budget-wise). To be honest, it's not something I would spend money on.

Our package includes one, but I just don't get the point. Unless it's a shot luge... Then it's cool

My venue also includes one and we're rolling with it... It's only for cocktail hour...

I looked over the photos, in an album for my venue. I was actually interested in one that included cherubs, but I thought they all looked like dwarves, with bare behinds.

Ours is included in our venue package. If it wasn't I wouldn't be having one.

FSIL had a Mario and princess Peach ice sculpture at her wedding. That was neat.

We had an ice luge, which is like an ice sculpture that you pour drinks down. Caveat: Our wedding was heavy on the booze and drunkenness intentionally. People loved it during cocktail hour (an attendant poured our signature cocktail through it). We have tons of amazing pictures from the end of the night/late night of people taking shots directly from it. For us? Totally worth it. In most cases, an ice sculpture just sitting there? Probably not.
