Ice cream float bar

Masonbride, on March 11, 2019 at 2:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
FH & I decided to have a float bar set up, we’re gonna have mason jars with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in them & an assortment of glass bottle sodas for people to choose from, this is in addition to cake & a milk & cookies bar (FH is a milk & cookies fan so this is in place of a grooms cake lol) I wanted to know what’s some of your favorite flavors & toppings for a float! We’re obviously doing root beer & also butterbeer for the Harry Potter fans but would love some other ideas!

Orange soda would probably be very good, and cheerwine. I would try to find blood orange soda if you can, that would be delicious. Italian and Mexican sodas are good. Like Mexican Coke instead of regular coke.

I'm curious about the logistics of ice cream at weddings. Is this at a venue that serves ice cream or will you be providing it? Sorry, just my curiosity lol.

No problem! We’ll be providing, our guest list is at most 50, all close family & friends, so we plan on filling the jars the night before & keeping them on ice/in freezer until after the ceremony then having them set out in metal tubs of ice. The wedding is outdoor, very laid back.

    That sounds awesome, I'm jealous!

Just make sure to announce to people or make it known the ice cream is out or it'll melt.

Here's a link I found with a bunch of different ice cream float flavors:

This is amazing. I agree that Orange is a good option. Dr. Pepper and a cola are good choices, too.

How fun! Don't forget the whip cream and cherries!

I wonder if you could buy sprinkles/nonpareils in your wedding colors?

Our colors are neutrals to match outdoors, sage, tan & rose gold. I definitely think I could find some! Thanks for the idea!

Vernors for a Boston Cooler! You could also do cream sodas - those would probably be delicious as a float Smiley smile
