Ice chest

If you don't have something insulated it will just melt quickly in August heat. I'd rather have cold water than worry about what looks nice.

Oh, so just coolers. I didn’t know people called them something different.

Anyway, I agree with Gretchen that you need to just use the coolers so that the water stays cold.

Some of these are pretty neat and dry ice lasts longer than regular ice. Maybe wrap a layer of dry ice in the bottom and put regular ice on top?

There’s other options but they are on the pricey side. I understand wanting something to look a little nicer. So this is an alternative or even those Yeti coolers are nicer than the standard ones from like Walmart but you’d still be paying a pretty penny.

Dry ice will sublimate outside in just a few hours. If you have it with regular ice and it gets wet, it will be gone in less than an hour.

Honestly, I'd just get the coolers. Nobody's gonna be paying attention to them ☺

I am an outdoor guide so were using an old caneo that had a whole in it so my boss was going to toss it out. Were doing an adventure theme so it fits great plus its free! You can go around the different places that uses caneos or check out craigslist/facebook yard sale to find an older one, just give it a little TLC and it can look great, I've even seen chalk paint on one with your names scrolled on the side. We're putting some styrofoam in the sides, filling it with ice and putting up a cute beer canoe sign! You can also use the plastic wine barrels, they're cute and not too rustic (like an old canoe lol). Were doing that for our wine and kegs. They have them on amazon and at Lowes for like $20 for the larger ones, which is about as much as some of the larger coolers that dont look as nice. If you insulate it with some cheap styrofoam, the ice shouldn't melt as quickly.

Couple of ideas:

1. You can paint or decorate a foam ice chest. If you have a flower girl or ring bearer you can even have them help you that was though it might not be “pretty” it’s still personal to you and fun.

2. You can use a box, chest, etc. that a cooler would fit inside. I’ve seen this done on decks and patios, where you put the cooler inside a wooden box.

3. Anything can technically be a cooler if you line it. It might melt faster if it’s not insulated but you can still line anything you’d like with plastic and turn it into a cooler.

I think it would be easy to take a cheap cooler and put wooden planks around it to cover up the “ugly”. Depending on how good you are at a DIY!

I like the idea of putting wood planks around the coolers!
I also liked what our friends did at their wedding recently, it was in one of the pics above, just like big metal buckets with ice. It wasn’t melting that fast and it was in July!
