i went in to finalize one dress and did a complete 180…

I went in to finalize a dress order (tbh, I wasn’t 100% and wanted to see it again), got caught up looking at a different one, fell absolutely head over heels and purchased it same day.

I am struggling! It’s a ball gown and they’re making it to my measurements. I won’t see it until April.
Can I hear your ball gown stories? Did you always know you wanted one? How was sitting and having dinner in it? Did you end up feeling huge? Can I see your pictures too? 💕

I wanted a ball gown for some reason I feel extra bridal, My fiance said I would look great in a fit and flare, I am plus size and thought he was crazy, but for fun, I decided to try on a fit and flare and oh my gosh I felt beautiful, sexy, amazing, however, I didn't feel bridal enough. So after talking to my fiance I decided why not have 2 dresses I can have my ball gown for the ceremony and a trumpet for my reception so I got two dresses,

I worked in bridal for 3.5 years, and did a number of wedding shows where I wore gowns in that time- of every different silhouette. I went with a ball gown precisely because they’re easier to sit, dance, and move in than fit in flares (not trying to say fit and flares can’t have mobility, but overall, ball gowns are easier). Mobility for dancing is also a big deal for me, since I did ballroom growing up and my fiancé and I are taking lessons. We’re planning to do a sweetheart table rather than a head table, and I’m not worried about sitting or eating in it. I have always loved ball gowns, but my experience wearing fit and flares for hours at a time really finalized the decision for me.

Wow! I always thought they’d be harder to move in for some reason. I’m doing a singular long table (micro wedding style) but we will be at the head of it together. I’m a little worried about fitting the dress in the chair 😬

Does the chair have arms? If not, I really wouldn’t worry about it. The dress is likely to drape over and sit to one side of the chair, but I really wouldn’t think it’d be an issue! Do you have any pictures of your dress? The fabric may also effect how it lays and how heavy it feels

The chair does have arms 🙃 we were talking about renting two different chairs for the head seats because of this but have been struggling to find just two chairs. We thought maybe they could be a fun design element too if we can find anything.
