I want the ceremony to start at 5:00pm what time do I put on the invites?

5:00. people will be coming early, and you don't want them to arrive at 4 thinking it's starting at 4:30, and then it starts at 5. then if things actually do run late then they'll have been there for over an hour! people will get there on time, and if they're late then oh well. they can wait outside or sit in the back.

If you're in NY or NJ, 4:30. No one is on time here, receptions will start late, (if you choose to wait for them...)and you'll lose that time. If you're prepared to start at 5:00, no matter who is there, then put 5:00 on the invite.

Thank you, mine will start at 6pm promptly and I wasn't sure if I should put 530 or 6pm. I want to walk at 6:15 and Vows at 6:25 p.m. Now I know I will put ceremony at 6pm promptly on the invites, THANK YOU LADIES!

Awesome that you are putting your start time correctly on the invitation. I would note though that is is a 4 year old post.
